May I endorse wholeheartedly Dr. Keitel's objection to the use of gastrostomy for the feeding of prematures. The possible shortening of the stay in the hospital by a few days surely does not justify the additional risk inherent to a surgical procedure—even in the hands of the most skilled and experienced— which it will not be if taken up indiscriminately.

I cannot, however, subscribe to his criticism of the editorial management of "Experience and Reason—Briefly Recorded.
